hope is such an optimistic word. it's a pile of little "hello's" waiting to be either "hurrays" or "hmmm..." or "huh?" in short, hope is just a road that either goes somewhere or nowhere.
waiting can be a walk in the park in normal circumstances. the difference between waiting and anticipating is the familiarity. waiting is sitting still, and watching for something to happen - or not happen. anticipating only happens when you're familiar with something, like a balloon popping, or a bottle getting filled up with water - there's a vague signal you look for to get you ready for the inevitable. the complication lies when you confuse waiting with anticipating; when you think you know, but you don't - when you think you're anticipating, when you're actually just waiting.
put in a dash of hope in there, and it makes the "waiting" either more bearable or horribly unbearable. the question is: is it a mistake to hope?
Lily
I dare you
a challenge placed,
to be more, to see more
to get out of your space
I mock you
an insult released
to scare you, to bare you
to keep me appeased
I argue
a comment subjective
to bring out the reasons
to make you reflective
I kiss you
an action regretted?
to taste your emotions
my feelings are tested
I love you
a crime commited
to drive you, to fuel you
to make you, to break you
to love me i dare you;
the question, a flower
has left you to answer -
lily, it blooms
lily... lily... lily...
